Hereford Enterprise Zone / Rotherwas Estate
The Rotherwas estate in Hereford was awarded enterprise zone status in 2011.
This means the area will see financial incentives, reduced planning restrictions and other support to encourage the creation of new businesses and jobs, and contribute to the growth of the local and national economies. The benefits include relief on business rates up to a maximum of £275,000 over a five year period, relaxation and fast tracking of the planning process and provision of improved infrastructure such as superfast broadband.
In addition all business rates growth within the zone for a period of at least 25 years will be retained and shared by the local authorities within the Marches LEP to support economic development within their area.
If you would like to further discuss the Enterprise Zone scheme, or if you are a business wishing to discuss the potential site opportunities of locating within the zone, please contact Mark Pearce (Managing Director – Hereford Enterprise Zone) at firstname.lastname@example.org or Dorothy Coleman (Economic Development Officer – Hereford Enterprise Zone) at email@example.com. Hereford's former livestock market development
The Hereford Futures project will expand the city centre across the site of Hereford's former livestock market. This privately funded £80 million development will include a department store, cinema, supermarket and a variety of shops and restaurants, providing more than 1,100 new jobs for the city.
Find out more at the Hereford Futures website.
Please note the Gateway Committee minutes have been released with some redactions regarding commercial sensitivity.
We are hoping to develop a new employment park at Model Farm, Ross-on-Wye. The 10ha site will be aimed at attracting high skill knowledge, science and engineering based companies looking to locate in an attractive rural setting but still close to the M50 and wider motorway network.
The principle of development has already been approved and a planning application has been submitted for the proposed infrastructure works. We are keen to encourage innovative building designs to good sustainable standards and are now looking for a development partner to take the project forward.
